All of the items on this page were run on the same press, with the same inks, anilox rolls etc… So that the only variables were the actual plates used.  This way, you can see the differences made by the plates only. There are a variety of presses and anilox rolls used, but to experience the impact that our plates can make on your press please contact Christopher Green at  (317) 780–4731 or Email at crjgreen@prpflexo.com

The immediate impression on this print sample is that the fluting dominates the overall print. This side-by-side comparison is of a simple 15% tint block with the conventional analog plate print on the left and our new patent pending digital ExSpect® plate on the right. This sample truly highlights the impact on dot-gain that our plates can make, with the conventional plate gaining more than DOUBLE the Digital ExSpect® plate. If you’re trying to hit color on press, this problem can take hours to solve, if at all.

This web print on poly underlines some of the problems of printing on this substrate. Typically, the print will start to become  “dirty”, especially in highlight areas. This problem is partly due to the dot profiles on a conventional printing plate, whereby the dot tips are rounded and the relief depth will frequently fill in due to its shallowness.  Digital ExSpect® plates from PRPflexo have a completely flat-topped dot and the relief depth is on average, over 30% greater than a conventional plate. This means your prints will run longer and cleaner than ever before, saving you time and money.

The solid coverage requirements on the overall container for this item meant that the printer had no choice but to over-impress the plates. As you can see, on the conventional plate this led to a great deal of dot-gain and fluting. On the Digital ExSpect® plate however, dot-gain is much less, there is greater detail and the fluting has been completely eliminated.

The comparisons above show how our analog ExSpect® plates outperform Brand X even on relatively straightforward 1 color jobs. Note the missing detail on the measuring spoons on the Brand X side compared to the analog ExSpect® side.

Flesh tones are frequently problematic for many printers, you need as much help from your printing plates as you can get. The conventional analog plate used to print the image on the left, simply does not have the ability to provide all of the subtle detail required here.  Leaving the harsh breaks in the highlight areas.

The Digital ExSpect® plate in contrast, leaves no harsh edge and the transitions are nice and smooth as intended.
